Zhao Shuanglian Met with Blairo Maggi, Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply Release Time : 2018-07-06
On May 16, secretary of Corporation leading Party members’ group and Chairman Zhao Shuanglian met with Blairo Maggi, Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply.

Zhao Shuanglian extended welcome to Blairo Maggi and his delegation and gave a briefing on COFCO Corporation’s business operations in Brazil and future investment plan. He noted that COFCO Corporation is willing to continue to expand cooperation with Brazil in importing soybean and meat and hoped that Brazilian government should support the bilateral cooperation in order to achieve mutual win-win.

Mr. Maggi said that COFCO Corporation is Brazil’s important business partner. As a country that supplies and processes agri-produce and agricultural raw materials, Brazil hopes that COFCO Corporation can further increase its investment in Brazil and expand the scope and volume of Brazilian agri-produce import.
  
Both sides held discussions on specific issues such as COFCO Corporation’s technical renovation of Brazilian ports, construction of logistics routes and infrastructure, existing businesses and potential collaboration opportunities. According to the Brazilian delegation, Brazilian government will proactively remove difficulties and promote bilateral cooperation by taking into account issues and challenges faced by the partnership. 

Minister at the embassy of Brazil in China Marcelo, COFCO Oils & Oilseeds Secretary of the Party committee and Chairman Dong Wei, COFCO Meat member of the Party committee and General Manager Xu Jianong, Head of General Office Liu Yun, and Deputy Director of Capital Operations Wu Fei attended the meeting.
