COFCO Signed Contract for Its First Grain and Oil Processing Project in Hunan Province

The Rice Division of China Agri-Industries Holdings (HK0606) signed the cooperation agreement with Yueyang City Government of Hunan Province. The project has the capacity of processing 300,000 tons of rice annually. It covers about 40 acres and plans to be completed and put to production within next year. Its production value expects to reach RMB 1 billion. It is instrumental to strengthening the Rice Division's market position in Southern China since Hunan Province is China's largest rice growing region and significant rice consumption market. It is COFCO's first one of its kind in this province.
