COFCO and Hubei held a signing ceremony in Beijing December 30 for their framework agreement for a series of cooperative projects in grain and oil processing and feed production, development of material and energy resources, livestock and poultry rearing and processing, real estate and hotels.
The conditions of the agreement call for COFCO to make Hubei a major base for business development. In turn, Hubei will support COFCO’s efforts to develop their business in Hubei. To promote their cooperation, the two parties will set up a development strategy team and institute a system of joint meetings and regular high-level meetings.
Liu Fuchun, COFCO president, and Liu Youfan, Hubei vice governor, signed the agreement contract. Chen Xunqiu, deputy secretary, and Liu Keyi, vice director of the secretariat of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, and Ning Gaoning, chairman, Xue Guoping and Yu Xupo, vice-presidents, Liu Liedong, chief legal advisor, and Zhang Dongfeng, assistant to the president, of COFCO attended the ceremony.
COFCO previously signed framework agreements for strategic cooperation with Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces.
