Great Wall Wine to be the Exclusive Supplier for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Release Time : 2012-03-20

At a press conference jointly held by COFCO Wine & Spirits Company and BOCOG on August 16, COFCO Wine & Spirits Company (Great Wall Wine) was announced as the exclusive wine supplier for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

In addition to providing funds, products and services for the Games, Great Wall Wine will also be entitled to use the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games logo and participate in a series of events during the Games.

Ning Gaoning, chairman of COFCO, stated: “In addition to being a great honor, this is a hard-won opportunity to spread Chinese culture and wine to the rest of the world. I believe that participation in the Games will lead to remarkable progress in our brand development, service and company growth”.
              

Yuan Bin, director of the BOCOG marketing department, congratulated Great Wall Wine on its success and also expressed his hope that COFCO Wine & Spirits Company will use this opportunity to further its development.

Qu Zhe,  general manager of COFCO Wine & Spirits Company, said: “The goal of our cooperation with the Beijing Olympic Games is to seek a position in the world wine market. The company will work closely with BOCOG to realize both economic returns and social benefits, and to contribute to the success of the Games”.

Also present at the press conference were fomer Olympic diving champion Gao Min and gymnastics champion Mo Huilan. He Zhenliang, honorary chairman of the Chinese Olympic Committee, an IOC member and advisor of BOCOG, also sent a letter of congratulations to be read at the press conference.
