Pengtai's Second Production Line Goes into Operation

On September 8, Asia's largest flour mill, Pengtai (Qinhuangdao) Flour Co., Ltd., formally put its second production line into operatin.

This production line uses technology from the Buhler company of Switzerland and has a designed handling capacity of 400 tons of wheat per day and processing capacity of 90,000 tons of wheat annually. The addition of this new capacity brings Pentai's total handling capacity to 1,150 tons of wheat per day and processing capacity to 350,000 tons of wheat annually.

Wang Zhen, general manager of COFCO Flour, indicated that COFCO Flour, through a combination of the two strategic measures of tapping the potential of existing capacity and low cost purchases, will increase its capacity from 1 million to 3 million tons in less than five years. The company is taking appropriate steps to become more of a presence in the food further processing and is working to become a frontrunner in China's flour processing industry and hopes create a leading brand in the industry.
