On August 21, 2008, the China Enterprises Federation and China Enterprise Directors Association jointly issued the "2005 List of China's Top 500 Enterprises." COFCO ranked 15 with operating revenue of 117.4 billion yuan. COFCO has been on the list all four years since the list was first compiled in 2002.
This year's Chinese list was patterned after the early version of the Fortune 500 list. This is the first year for ranking manufacturing enterprises and service enterprises. COFCO ranked 11 on the list of top 500 service enterprises.
