Mr. Chi Jingtao Met with Semmaris Group Chairman Stephane Layani Release Time : 2015-05-18

On May 13, Mr. Chi Jingtao, COFCO vice president and general manager of COFCO Trade Development Company met with Semmaris Group chairman Stéphane Layani and his delegation at COFCO Plaza. The two sides held discussions on cooperation in agricultural products logistics and e-commerce. 

Mr. Chi Jingtao gave a briefing on COFCO Group and COFCO Trade’s grain logistics business and expressed his willingness to carry out sincere and win-win cooperation in the spirit of mutual trust with Semmaris Group. The two sides can work together on online grain trading platform and the establishment of brick-and-mortar trading platforms at grain depots in various regions. In addition, since COFCO Group is researching the feasibility of setting up a grain wholesale market in Chengdu Industrial Park, it is willing to cooperate with Semmaris in this field to give full play to its advantages in consulting services.

Mr. Stéphane Layani gave an introduction on Rungis International Market in Paris, France regarding its agricultural products logistics and grain wholesale market management as well as Semmaris Group’s investments in China. He expressed his willingness to share Semmaris’ experience in food safety and grain wholesale market management so as to conduct comprehensive cooperation with COFCO Group integrating upstream and downstream operations.
