COFCO Ranked 272nd among Fortune Global 500 Companies for 22 Consecutive Years Release Time : 2015-09-07

In the evening of July 22, U.S. Fortune Magazine released the list of 2015 Fortune Global 500 and COFCO Group was ranked 272nd with operating revenue of US$ 40.5245 billion among Fortune Global 500 for 22 consecutive years. Compared with its ranking of 401st last year, COFCO Group became the fastest Chinese enterprise that moved up in the ranking.

As China’s leading provider of diversified agricultural and food products and services, COFCO Group is dedicated to building a fully integrated value chain from farm to fork. Upon its completion of international acquisitions of Nidera and Noble Agri in 2014, COFCO is emerging as a leading international grain trader in the world on the strength of its global integrated business positioning and supply chain system. 

In 2014, COFCO Group’s overseas operating revenue accounted for 54%, exceeding its domestic operating revenue for the first time. The total amount of its assets exceeded US$ 70 billion. It had a global warehousing capacity of over 30 million tons, a processing capacity of 89.5 million tons of agri-products per year, a port transit capacity of over 53 million tons per year, an annual operating volume of 150 million tons, an international trade volume of over 78 million tons of grains and oils, and assets and offices in over 60 countries and regions with business presence in over 140 countries. At present, COFCO Group’s global integrated supply chain system which includes plantation, purchase, warehousing, logistics and ports has begun to take shape.

Acclaimed as the “ultimate list” released annually by Fortune Magazine, the list of Fortune Global 500 has always been the most famous and authoritative yardstick for major global companies. This year, Chinese companies on the list continu to maintain a robust growth momentum, the number of which increases by six compared with last year to 106 and ranks second in the world. The number of U.S. companies on the list is 128 and equal to that of last year.
