On April 11, 2016, COFCO Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group & Chairman Zhao Shuanglian met with Australian Minister for Trade and Investment Steven Ciobo and his delegation at COFCO Plaza. The two sides exchanged views on the trading ties between the COFCO and Australia as well as COFCO’s investments in Australia.

Mr. Zhao Shuanglian extended welcome to the Honourable Steven Ciobo and his delegation and gave a briefing about COFCO’s investments in Australia and its trade contacts with Australia. He thanked the Australian government for its continuous support to COFCO’s development in Australia and expected further enhanced bilateral cooperation in the import of grains, food, and meat.

The Honourable Steven Ciobo noted the sound cooperative ties maintained between Australian enterprises and the COFCO and welcomed the COFCO to ratchet up its trade with Australia as well as its investments in Australia. He also pledged to continue his support to the COFCO.

Australian Ambassador to China Jan Adams and COFCO Meat general manager Xu Jianong also attended the meeting.
