December 28, 2007 witnessed the trial opening of Grand Joy City, most recent project by COFCO Commercial Properties at Xidan, Beijing. COFCO Chairman Frank Ning, President Patrick Yu, Vice President Shi Zhuowei and Mm Liu Ding were present and launched the opening ceremony by lighting together the City’s LED wall, the largest so far in China. A shining Grand Joy City lit up the whole Xidan commercial area.

Mr. Ning, Mr. Yu, Mr. Shi and Mm Liu gave speeches on the ceremony, in which the successful opening of the City was highly spoken of. Mr. Ning also gave high remarks on the efforts of Xidan team, hoping the City’s official opening on February 1 would be even better and show people its real charm.

It took less than six months from acquisition and opening of the City, a first in Beijing commercial real estate. What’s more surprising was 60% of shops were open on the first day of trial, with more international brands coming soon (40 of them would land on Beijing market for the first time). The coming-in of international flagships to Grand Joy City brings international trends, marking the City as a weather cock for international fashion. The City also boasts for its brand advantage, longest escalator, largest LED wall and cinema in China.
