Special Railway Line Started Operation in COFCO Chengdu Industrial Park Release Time : 2013-08-02

The special railway line started operation at 11:58am on July 19, 2013 when the C60 train carrying 600 tons of corn arrived at Chengdu Industrial Park. It finished the critical move for the Park to becoming the grain, oil and food consolidation center of the region.
 
The line was completed on March 18, 2013 after a year of construction. Its total investment was RMB 170 million. Its length was five kilometers and its available working length was 1.7 kilometers. Its annual handling capacity was 1.8 million tons. The supporting facilities included a bulk grain handling pit of 80 meters long the hourly capacity of which was 400 tons, a jetty oil handling platform of 60 meters long the capacity of which was designed for four tank trucks working at the same time, two double-body static rail weighbridges which were designed in precision for trade settlement and for quick weighing of carriages of various types, awning warehouses of 45,000 m2 containing over 100 cargo spaces, and silos, bins and bulk grain warehouses the available capacity of which totaled 477,000 tons.
 
The special railway line was the main artery piecing together the six business units in the Park. It would drive the agriculture and relevant industries of Sichuan Province to a higher level by paving the western way for grain to be carried from north to south and guaranteeing supply and security.
