On April 25-27, the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing. COFCO Corporation party secretary and chairman Lv Jun attended the opening ceremony of the Forum and the Belt and Road CEO Conference. 

As the only dairy company which signed an agreement during the Belt and Road CEO Conference, COFCO Corporation’s Mengniu Dairy entered into a cooperation agreement with China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (ZIETCZ) to build a dairy factory in Indonesia, thus embarking on in-depth cooperation. 

As the first dairy product manufacturing base a Chinese enterprises has placed in Southeast Asia, Mengniu Dairy’s dairy factory in Indonesia commanded a total investment of more than RMB 300 million. With a designed daily output capacity of 260 tonnes, the factory mainly puts out Mengniu YoyiC probiotics beverage and yogurt. It will apply world leading production technology and quality control system. With products manufactured and sold locally, the factory offers high quality dairy products to the whole Southeast Asian market. In addition, the factory is expected to provide about 1,000 jobs for Indonesians in the coming five years. In the process of deepening cooperation, Mengniu Dairy will implement the golden principles of the Belt and Road Initiative – consultation, contribution and shared benefits, attach importance to the improvement of people’s livelihood, and actively advance and carry out UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
